This work is part of bigger project called ‘Boaz’ and is a collaboration with the artist Dor Guez.

This work was shown first in Maximilian Forum (Munich) in May 14, 2014 and is still running in ACC gallery in Weimar.

About Pkeila. One of the strongest smells from childhood was the cooking of spinach, known as Pkeila in Tunisian Jewish dialect. For days, my mother would clean, wash, and dry spinach leaves on sheets displayed in the center of the living room. This quite complicated dish is considered a central element of the Jewish-Tunisian cuisine.
The installation is consist of a glass cube, filled with approx. hundreds of spinach leaves, flying. standing on a black wooden pedestal.
The first photo is from the show in the ACC and was taken by Zeger Reyers
